Perfluoropropane injection offers alternative treatment for vitreomacular traction

Intravitreal expansile perfluoropropane injection may be a minimally invasive alternative to pars plana vitrectomy in treatment of vitreomacular traction, according to a study.The retrospective, interventional case series included 15 eyes of 14 patients with symptomatic, persistent vitreomacular traction who received intravitreal injection of 0.3 mL 100% perfluoropropane.
