Panretinal photocoagulation does not affect quality of life

Panretinal photocoagulation for treatment of bilateral proliferative diabetic retinopathy had no significant effect on quality of life in terms of severe visual or social impairment, according to a study.The prospective study included 20 patients with bilateral proliferative diabetic retinopathy who underwent panretinal photocoagulation. An average of 2,140 laser spots were applied per eye.
