Repeated pars plana vitrectomy with internal limiting membrane peeling and gas tamponade demonstrated effectiveness as a treatment for persistent macular holes, according to a study.The retrospective study included 29 eyes of 29 patients treated for persistent macular hole who had at least 4 months of follow-up.
