Cross-linking hinders further progression of keratoconus in majority of eyes

Corneal collagen cross-linking, or CXL, prevented further disease progression in almost all eyes with advanced keratoconus, according to a study.The retrospective study included 28 eyes of 22 patients who underwent CXL for progressive keratoconus. All eyes had maximum keratometry (maxK) of 55 D or more. Mean postoperative follow-up was 22 months.
