We would like to thank Galvis et al for their comments on our article. It has been demonstrated by us that the sensitivity of potassium hydroxide (KOH) in detecting fungal elements was 94.3%. This has also been substantiated by other authors who report the sensitivity of KOH stain in fungal keratitis to vary from 81.2% to 100%. We do agree that KOH stain followed by calcofluor white stain does increase the sensitivity of diagnosis of fungal elements from 81% to 96.6%, as has also been reported by Zhang et al.
