Congenital cataract surgery poses high risk for glaucoma development

Due to the high risk of glaucoma development in eyes after early congenital cataract surgery, long-term monitoring is essential, according to a study.Sixty-two eyes of 37 children who underwent congenital cataract surgery younger than 7 months of age were included in the retrospective, interventional, consecutive case series. Patients were followed for a median 7.9 years.
