The new president of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, Steven J. Fliesler, PhD, FARVO, has begun his 2018-2019 term, succeeding Claude F. Burgoyne, MD, FARVO, according to a press release.
Fliesler is the Meyer H. Riwchun Endowed Chair Professor of Ophthalmology and vice chairman and director of research in the ophthalmology department at the State University of New York-University at Buffalo, where he also is a professor of biochemistry and neurosciences.
