VIDEO: Biometry gains precision with AI and intraoperative OCT

ATHENS, Greece — In all fields of medicine, artificial intelligence is greatly transforming the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, leading to improved outcomes. The current applications of artificial intelligence to biometry are explained at the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons Winter Meeting by Nino Hirnschall, MD, PhD. Together with intraoperative OCT measurements, new AI-based formulas are increasing the accuracy of prediction of IOL position and IOL power calculation.
